Laughter recharges me.

Laughter reduces my stress levels and gives me energy. My mind and body feel more at ease. My muscles relax and distressing thoughts fade away. Appreciating the lighter side of life makes me stronger and more resilient.

Laughter makes it easier for me to handle challenges and bounce back from disappointments.

Laughter draws me closer to my family and friends. We connect by revealing our vulnerabilities and sharing happy times.

I find opportunities to laugh each day. I enjoy funny books and movies. I watch cartoons with my niece and silly romantic comedies while eating my favorite ice cream on the couch. I surround myself with others who enjoy being silly. I tell my family amusing stories about my day. I take pictures of hilarious road signs or cute puppies so we can chuckle about them together.

I use humor to resolve conflicts in my business. When things become heated, I lighten the mood with a witty observation or a gentle remark. I break down barriers and encourage collaboration.

I give myself something to giggle about when I am stuck in traffic jams or waiting in line at the supermarket. I remember the lines of a funny song or something a friend said.

I laugh at myself when I am feeling tense. I notice how things run more smoothly when I refuse to take myself too seriously. I turn embarrassing moments into a source of entertainment and learning.

Today, I take time out to have a hearty laugh and invite others to share my joy. Humor enriches my life.

Ask yourself these three questions:

1. What happens to my body when I laugh?

2. How can humor help me to express my true feelings?

3. What holds me back from laughing more?

Take a moment to really answer these questions and think about how your current actions, thoughts and beliefs could be holding you back from your happiness and then start making some much needed changes. You can do it…and I’m here to help!
